Add Background Music to a Web Page

Now you can add to the excitement of your site visitors by adding background music to the web pages of your Google site. The procedure involves a few simple steps which anyone can implement. You can also change the background music anytime you want. Smaller music files do not take much time to play. The music plays instantly whenever the user opens the page.

In the following procedure, we have taken an example of adding background music to the Home page of a Google Site.

To add background music:

1. Sign in and open the Home page of your Google site.

2. Click Edit on the menu bar.

3. On the Insert menu click More…

4. Type bgm playlist and click Search.

5. Select the gadget and click Add.

6. In the Setup your gadget dialog box, do the following:

   a. Select the Auto start option.

   b. Select the Default volume to High, Low, or Medium.

  c. Enter a title for the song.

  d. Enter the song URL.

  e. Set the Height and Width to ‘0’ pixels in the Display options.

  f. Click OK.

7. Click Save to save the changes.

Now you can listen the background music being played.

Put a different background music

You can change the background music anytime you want. This is much simpler than adding a music file to the web page.

To change the background music:

1. Open the Home page.

2. Click Edit on the menu bar.

3. Scroll down till you see the gadget code in the HTML Editor.

4. Change the width and height to ‘100’ pixels, and click Update.

   This displays the gadget on the Home page.

5. Select the gadget and click Properties.

6. In the Setup your gadget dialog box, enter the song URL.

7. Set the Width and Height under Display options to ‘0’ pixels. Click OK.

8. Click Save.

Now you can find a different music file being played for your Home page background.  Similarly, you can add music to the other pages of your websites. You can choose whether to display the gadget on the web page or not by setting the width and height options.
